Government Stadium Hongkong
Hong Kong Stadium is where the main sport in Hong Kong which is a result of redevelopment of the old stadium Government Stadium. The stadium was reopened as the Hong Kong Stadium in 1994. The stadium has a maximum capacity of 40,000 seats, including 18,240 seats in the main level, 3153 executive seats, 18,559 seats at the top level, and 48 seats for wheelchair users.

The stadium is located in So Kon Po, Hong Kong Island, a valley near Causeway Bay. International football matches in Hong Kong mostly held in this stadium. The stadium is also the venue for the Hong Kong Sevens rugby series. The stadium has also held IRB Sevens Rugby World Cup twice, in 1997 and 2005.


Hong Kong Stadium is planned to be destroyed for housing repairs after the construction of Multi-Functional Kai Tak Stadium with a capacity of 45,000 seats finished.
