Atatürk Olympic Stadium or Olimpiyat Stadi, located in İkitelli, on the outskirts of Istanbul, is Turkey's largest stadium. The stadium was built for Turkey's Olympic plans and the cost of 130 million.

Atatürk Olympic Stadium was designed by two French architects Michel Macary and Aymeric Zublena, who was also the architect of the Stade de France in Paris. With 80,567 seats and the size of the Olympics, given the title Ataturk stadium sports complex a 5 star by UEFA in 2004, so that he can be the host for the event-event finals UEFA.


Atatürk Olympic Stadium has hosted several European athletics championships. Galatasaray played their home games at this stadium in the season 2003-2004, because of their poor condition stadium, Ali Sami Yen Stadium, and it criticized the other team. Galatasaray and then returned to the Ali Sami Yen in the 2004-2005 season.

UEFA Champions League Final 2005 between Liverpool and AC Milan was held in this stadium.
