According to an aid group working in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) and a top official United Nations made an urgent call for an investigation into the rape case.
An estimated 7,000 people have arrived in the DR Congo in the last two months after being expelled by Angola, who accused them of an illegal immigrant, according to the count of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
"Humanitarian groups have reported 6621 people in West Kasai province and 322 in the area Tembo in Bandundu province," according to the OCHA statement.

According to several aid workers, more than 600 people in West Kasai reported experiencing sexual violence. A special group has been visiting the region this weekend.
A humanitarian agency that went to Tembo found that 99 women and 15 men have been victims of sexual violence.
"A woman died in hospital because of the violence," said Francesco Mazzarelli of the Italian aid group, GISP, in a statement.
"Allegations of abuse that needs to be investigated as a matter of urgency," said Valerie Amos, the Deputy Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and UN Emergency Relief Coordinator.
In October 2009, both countries had expelled tens of thousands of people. Many of those stranded at the border without food and protection.
